Ok, maybe not the standard line for a home buying article, but after you watch these, you'll probably say the same.
Apparently she was searching for her own home and Realtor.com snagged her home-searching interests and brought her on board to do what might be the greatest Real Estate 101 videos ever.
For some reason, Realtor hasn't done a great job of making these very accessible outside of their website and what I assume are TV spots (I haven't had cable TV in over 5 years so I'll just assume) but the whole set are right HERE. Also, below. No need to leave me.
I am in love with their accessible language/thought process model here. Its enjoyable to watch, hits the major points - "DON'T BE AN IDIOT" - and actually has some good advice in 2 1/2 mins.
My favorite piece of advice from EB and Realtor thus far:
"The most important thing for a first time buyer is to live within your budget. Also, don't be an idiot.... But those are really the same thing."
-
"You're really doing it. You're ready to buy a house! You know what you can afford, you got a pre-approval letter and you and your partner haven't killed each other yet."
Thats literally the 3 first steps in the home buying process. You deserve a home if you can afford it and it hasn't ruined your relationship.
-
I also love their advice on open housing! Spot-on scenarios
-
"Your Realtor is like your consigliere... that makes you the Don."
Yeah, I'm ok with that. I do like Robert Duvall
-
"At closing, you sign your name like 300 times, maybe 400. I'm serious, its insane. Bring an energy bar.... and maybe one of those hand grip exercise tool thingys."
Hmmm.... new closing gift idea??
Nice work Realtor.com and EB!
